Action Syria works with local partners to make sure Syrian communities have the medical care and education they need, every day, and when emergencies strike. Our vision is one where Syrians can build their lives with health, opportunity and hope.

Action Syria is looking for a new Board Chair to lead our dedicated and skilled Board of Trustees. Alongside the typical qualities expected for the role, the following areas of expertise are sought in particular: fundraising & networking.

The new Board Chair will play an instrumental role in supporting Action Syria’s growth for the remainder of the organisation’s three-year strategy (2023-2026) and beyond. This is a very exciting time to join and shape the organisation to ensure maximum impact on Syrians affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disaster.

 

Job title: Chair of the Board of Trustees

Term of office: Up to three terms of three years. There will be a three-month trustee probation period following appointment.

Remuneration: Unremunerated. Out of pocket expenses incurred in the course of duties may be claimed.

Time commitment: At least 2 days/month. The Trustees serve on a voluntary basis, and meet four times a year in London, with the occasional ad hoc call, as required, in between.
