Finance Officer
Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer with a large and well-known central London based charity, on a full-time, 12-month FTC (possible extension to March 2026) basis. As Finance Officer you will provide a professional, comprehensive and proactive approach to dealing with financial matters. You will be the first point of contact for the Finance Team with suppliers and the wider team, for any transactional queries. You will also be required to keep the bookkeeping up to date and accurate.
Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation and you would be required to go into the office 2 days per week.
As Finance Officer, you will:
- Record accounts payable and receivable, and follow up with clients, suppliers, and partners as needed
- Identify additional accruals for late invoices at month-end
- Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies
- Perform month end closing in coordination with Management Accountant
- Attend monthly income reconciliation meetings to ensure reporting is aligned between systems
The successful applicant will:
- Have demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role
- Ideally be part-qualified or AAT qualified
- Have a good understanding of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Have the ability to spot numerical errors and ensure accuracy
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
