Job description

Are you an experienced leader in social care, passionate about person-centred support and ensuring high-quality services? We’re looking for a Registered Manager to join a dedicated team on a temporary basis, providing vital leadership and operational management.

Start Immediately
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Location: Hertfordshire

The role

As Registered Manager, you will ensure that the people we support receive high-quality, person-centred care while managing resources effectively. You’ll lead and develop a team, oversee compliance, and maintain key relationships with stakeholders to enhance service delivery.

Key responsibilities

People Management

  • Lead and develop a team of managers and support staff.

  • Conduct supervisions and appraisals in line with best practice.

  • Recruit and retain highly motivated and skilled team members.

  • Ensure staff induction, probation, and development are effectively managed.

  • Oversee employee relations processes, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, in collaboration with HR.

Financial Oversight

  • Ensure financial processes and budgets are managed effectively.

  • Oversee and report on budgetary requirements, identifying any discrepancies.

  • Manage service income and ensure financial accountability.

Compliance & Safeguarding

  • Act as the CQC Registered Manager, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

  • Oversee quality assurance checks, KPIs, and statutory reporting.

  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with protocols.

  • Ensure adherence to all legal, contractual, and policy requirements.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop community links to enhance the lives of the people we support.

  • Work closely with key internal departments for information and guidance.

Practice Leadership

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in service delivery.

  • Ensure support plans are current and meet the evolving needs of individuals.

  • Advocate for employment opportunities for the people we support.

  • Support individuals in transitions, such as moving into new accommodation.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.

  • Has experience leading teams in a social care setting.

  • Holds an NVQ Level 4 in Social Care Management (or equivalent) or RMA.

  • Understands CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE) and regulatory frameworks.

  • Has experience managing budgets and financial processes.

  • Can build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.

  • Communicates effectively, both in writing and verbally.

  • Is confident using IT systems and different software packages.

  • Is flexible, able to work evenings, weekends, and be part of an on-call rota.

  • Can travel between locations as required.
